The next level in RNA/DNA diagnostics

At the heart of Cube Dx’s proprietary RNA/DNA technology lie the hybcell and compact sequencing – an ultra-sensitive PCR process followed by highly specific resolution of several hundred RNA or DNA targets. Robust, fast, efficient.

Comprehensive hybcell tests

hybcell tests identify microbial species or genera from amplicons of the cube dx PCR products. In less than 20 minutes results for a wide range of targets are provided at once. The hybcell tests are designed as syndromic tests spanning several severe infections. The output of microbial targets for a specific application can be adjusted by the user for relevance. Therefore hybcell tests are suitable for clinical routine as well as research applications.

The principle

Hundreds of answers from one sample

The pan-bacterial 16S and pan-fungal 28S PCR separates negative from positive results. Positive samples are then examined in parallel against many targets on the cylindrical hybcell and read out in under 20 minutes.

  • Massively parallel multiplexing in the smallest space
  • Short, cost-effective protocol for negative samples — no ID necessary
  • One technology platform, many fields of application
The workflow

From sample to result

One continuous system of sample preparation, sensitive PCR and microarray identification. No plating, no culturing, no overnight wait.

Identification

Positive samples are examined in parallel against many targets on a cylindrical microarray. hyborg Dx RED analyses automatically — pathogens and resistance profile in a clear report.

The innovative hybcell technology and compact sequencing deliver fast and reliable pathogen ID for effective treatment — right from the start. The first direct whole-blood test was introduced in 2020 and has been in clinical routine ever since.

The underlying compact sequencing technology and the innovative sample-preparation methods were developed by cube dx. The products can be used in a comprehensive workflow or standalone for well-defined applications such as 16S amplicon sequencing.
